Whatever Nola wants...

i had the pleasure of watching She's Gotta Have It last night. It was Spike Lee's first movie, and i will have to say it is in my top five spike movies. it's been said that Malcolm X is in a class of its own, but i think I can say the same thing about this movie as well. he tackles issues about love and sexuality among black people in a way that doesn't make us look cheap or dirty.

in a way, i wish he had done Their Eyes Were Watching God instead of Kasi Lemmons...her version was a little watered down. i guess that's what happens when you get oprah in the mix. i wonder where tracy camilla johns is now. she seems like she had so much talent.

mars blackmon is priceless. sometimes i feel like his line were improvised. like the scene where he's doin the ailey moves. i couldn't buy that it was a part of the script.

but i digress. beautiful movie, great story, great study of black female sexuality.

This is why i hate MTV

how come THIS video was never in rotation?

i just stumbled upon it on youtube...unacceptable...
